Richard Wheeler is Development Director for START International and is responsible for the development of new initiatives and for the provision of business support to clients across England.  He is also responsible for links with Regional Development Agencies, universities and access to local, regional and national business networks. With an extensive management background in retail, wholesale, sales and consultancy, Richard has worked throughout the UK including 3 years overseas in Brussels.  He has been a director of an SME specialising in management, team building and sales consultancy as well as spending 15 years working with universities on knowledge transfer, business incubation and local regeneration.

Energy Supply Company Ltd — David Biggs

David Biggs is a Director of Energy Supply Company Ltd (ESC), a specialist electrical and controls engineering firm based in Northfleet, Kent.  David is responsible for the general management of the business.  He is a Chemist by training with a BSc degree in chemistry and worked in the water industry before joining ESC.  In his spare time, David is studying to become a qualified accountant.

Cantium Scientific Limited — Stephen Plumridge

Stephen Plumridge is a Chartered Engineer and a Director of Cantium Scientific Limited, an engineering design and development company based in Dartford, Kent.  Stephen has a background in electronics, specialising in industrial and scientific systems.  He worked in the pharmaceutical industry before joining the University of Greenwich School of Engineering in 1992 as a researcher and part-time lecturer.  Here, Stephen worked on combined heat and power (CHP) systems modelling.  In 1995 he started his first business specialising in industrial electronics and spent a while as a part-time lecturer back at the School of Engineering.  Five years later he joined Texcel Technology PLC, working on the development of remote telemetry systems and all manner of design projects.  This work took him all over Europe and the Far East.  Stephen is a volunteer with the Institution of Engineering and Technology, mentoring Engineers towards professional registration and for professional development.  In his spare time he is undertaking a part-time PhD with the Wolfson Centre at the university of Greenwich in the field of pneumatic conveying.
