The Future of Midwifery

This was a joint presentation Dawn Johnston of Darent Valley Hospital, Dartford, and Judith Nabb of Canterbury Christ Church University.

Judith Nabb discussed midwifery education today, including the programmes offered at CCCU for pre-registration education, post qualifying education through CPD at Diploma, BSc (Hons) and Postgraduate levels.

Dawn Johnston talked about midwifery practice today, the future plans, factors which drive this and a little about her midwifery experience in Zimbabwe where maternal death is high, no mod cons in labour such as epidurals.  This will be accompanied by a case by case presentation.
