Café Scientifique is a free and open forum for debating science and technology issues, not a shop window for science. We are committed to promoting public engagement with science and technology and making it accountable.

The meetings are normally held on the last Thursday of every month, where everyone, over a drink and a bite to eat (all free) can chat about any scientific issue in a friendly and informal setting. 

The only qualification needed to join in is an interest in anything scientific.  Also, at every meeting there is a talk by a leading scientist or engineer.

The next event will be on Thursday 25 June 2009 with a presentation by Terry McGivern,  Director of SECBE (South East Centre for the Built Environment) and The Institute for Sustainability, on the subject of  “Low Carbon Dartford?
